Frequently asked questions
Everything below is also true on the homepage — this page just gathers it in one place, plus a few extra details on billing and setup.
Do I get a new phone number?
You keep the public business number your customers already know. Harborline doesn't replace your carrier or take ownership of that line. Carrier routing and a separately registered texting sender may be required, and the exact customer-visible sender is confirmed during the live test.
What if I answer the call normally?
An answered call should not queue a missed-call reply. Harborline verifies that behavior on the exact carrier route before enabling real customer messaging.
Can I change what the text says?
Yes. Harborline prepares conservative starting wording, but it stays off until an authorized owner reviews the exact message, confirms the compliance settings, and completes sender registration and safety testing.
When does the free trial actually start?
For an eligible new account, Harborline is designed to detect carrier approval for the exact texting setup automatically. The customer must then acknowledge that approval in Harborline before the 14-day software trial begins. Approval time varies by carrier. Public signup stays closed until the final Stripe Sandbox and owner-pilot checks pass.
Am I charged anything when I sign up?
The intended eligible offer is $0 for Harborline software during the 14-day trial, with a card placed on file. This must be proven end to end in the correct Stripe Sandbox before public signup opens. Phone, messaging, registration, tax, and other third-party costs are separate and disclosed before you agree to them.
What does it cost after the trial?
Harborline software is intended to cost $80/month after the eligible trial, with no setup fee or long-term contract. No public message allowance is promised yet; phone, messaging, registration, tax, and other third-party costs are separate.
Can I cancel, and what happens to my leads?
Cancel from the plan area, with support as a fallback if account access is unavailable. Export the lead list before canceling while authorized app access is active; later access or deletion requests go through support and the retention policy. See the Cancellation policy.
How long does setup take?
Setup time depends on the carrier and sender-registration path. Live customer messaging stays off until phone routing, sender registration, consent review, recipient-local timing, and an owner-only safety test are complete.
Can my staff use it too?
The application has role-based access controls, but team invitations are not a launch promise until the full invitation and role matrix is tested. The initial launch should be owner-managed.
What kinds of businesses is this for?
Harborline is being prepared for small U.S. service businesses that rely on the phone for new inquiries, such as trades and home services. Uses in sensitive-data domains are reviewed case-by-case and must pass an additional compliance review before they are added to launch scope.
